I didn't know Koyo personally, but she was one of the few fellow Black people in Zurich who would make eye contact, smile and give me "The Nod" when we passed each other. Fly high, my sister. Fly high.
Yes the things you leave behind are endowed like talisman to retrieve that loved one an open the door to their love as impetus to empower your journey with the power of real love real love powerful with know restraints
Thank you Ava for sharing your gifts and teaching so subtle you have no idea until you feel and relieve the knowledge
This is so beautifully written Ava. I am indeed sorry she is gone. Yet, as the now late Nikki Giovanni said, “You’re not truly dead unless you’re forgotten.” And it does seem Koyo Kough will continue on in memory.
💜 Thank you for this loving tribute. I agree, when we keep living out the spirit and calls for action that a person who has passed on embodied throughout their life we keep their soul on Earth continuing their purpose in memory, in the present, and the future. To me, that's the real meaning and beauty of living forever - leaving the teachings, hope, and memories in those you touched in a way that helps keep doing good after you are gone.
