Thank you for these interviews with Journalists talking about how to get accurate, valid information out in the world. We need everything we can to fight the disinformation being used to break our society.
Origins is awesome... and i love what you said Ava about looking to history for hope and how to move forward. there have been worse moments... something that Heather Cox Richardson also harkens back too.
I’m hoping the recording of this conversation might have cleaner audio. I’ve listened to about 10 minutes and it is, hands down, the best conversation with a journalist I’ve heard in a long, long time. At leat two critical points made than I’ve heard nowhere else.
The sound is too bad to keep listening live but maybe Ava will publish a transcript?
Definitely suggest a viewing party or gathering so you can share it with others who haven't seen it too...movie club or something! lol (#IfYouWant lol No pressure of course! Just projecting on to you what I have been wanting to do! 🤣)
Great interview, Ava! Enjoyed the conversation and hopeful that all voices like Don Lemon, Jim Acosta, Joy Reid and Terry Moran continue to lend their journalistic integrity and influence. We need them and other artists like you to help us find and validate truths as genuine truth seekers!!
I’m so beyond ready for a Black woman as leader of this country.i thought for sure it would be Kamala. But if this country survives, I’m convinced it’s because of strong, intelligent amazing black women like yourself. Thank you for the entertainment and thank you for pushing the boundaries.❤️
What I love most is watching growth - just as I want it in myself as a human being, as a creative, I want to see it in those who are in the media, who are creatives - it reminds us all about our common journey - thank you, to the both of, you for sharing yours with us!
I agree wholeheartedly about reading history to lift the spirit. I have not, however, found the joy or the sense of being lucky to live in these hard times that Terry mentioned. I'm 70, living on Social Security, dependent on medicaid for the inadequate health care that's available in the U.S..... I just don't feel lucky. And, except in isolated moments, I don't feel the deep, deep, from my core out kind of joy any more.
But this was an excellent interview. Made me smile a lot. I'll keep working to find that joy.
Incredible discussion— thought provoking and real. Ava always makes you think and articulates what she says from a perspective that motivates and Terry is real and free to bring his reporting unrestrictive—positive and real.
You are really taking full advantage of this platform and your access. That will serve a lot of people. I appreciate it. I am going to aspire to get myself to a place where I am invited to be in conversation with you up here one of these days. You have the spirit of a woman who helped raise me. Her name was Okaree Ellen Byrd. She owned a Freedman's Farm in Furman, AL and was a force in a 4'10" body. She was reminiscent of Mama Odie from Princess and the Frog and just as magical. She carried the spirit of the ancestors and shared her gifts with everyone she came in contact with.
Thank you for your thoughtful and corrective responses to the meaning of patriotism. I have followed you and your films and tv shows since the beginning. So love your work. You are an inspiration and a teacher. Thank you! Onwards and courage!!!

It worked out fine. Give it a listen now as it’s an excellent chat from two talented producers!

Ah yes, Origin was such an unexpected diamond of a film. Took my wife to AMC in Los Angeles. Going to share with my 18 year old daughter.
